Chad Paiva was born in Newark, New Jersey and currently resides in Stuart, Florida. Mr. Paiva was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989 after graduating with Honors from the University of Miami (FL) School of Law. Mr. Paiva concentrates his practice in the areas of business and consumer bankruptcy, debtor and creditor rights, and collections. Mr. Paiva is admitted to all Florida Bankruptcy and Federal District Courts as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In his practice, Mr. Paiva represents individual, institutional lenders, landlords, private and publicly held corporations, as debtors and creditors in all types of insolvency and related proceedings including Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy, state court assignment for the benefit of creditors, voidable transfer and dischargability litigation in bankruptcy, and out of court asset sales and negotiated workouts. Mr. Paiva is an occasional lecturer on bankruptcy and related topics, and was the featured bankruptcy lecturer at the Wachovia Bank National Recovery Conference in 2006. Mr. Paiva is a member of the Palm Beach and Martin County Bar Associations, the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, and the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association.
