Since being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983, Larry Corman has handled business litigation and labor and
employment law matters. Mr. Corman graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1980
summa cum laude, with a double major in Economics and Political Science and received each Department’s Award
for having the highest grade point average. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mr. Corman earned his J.D. at Harvard
Law School, where he won The Williston Negotiation and Contract Drafting Competition in 1981.
Mr. Corman has extensive experience in handling matters pertaining to private country clubs and other property
owner associations. He has litigated numerous cases involving the turnover of real property and related facilities
from developers to clubs and other property owners. In addition to turnover work, Mr. Corman routinely reviews
and prepares vendor contracts, drafts employee handbooks, resolves member and employee grievances, interprets,
prepares and enforces By-laws, Rules and Regulations, and provides legal representation in connection with
construction related disputes.
Mr. Corman has tried cases involving the fraudulent sale of business interests and assets, the defective construction
of improvements to real property and yachts, the enforcement of covenants not to compete and the protection of
trade secrets, and defamation and false imprisonment claims. Mr. Corman also regularly represents clients in
connection with the collection of delinquent accounts, including enforcing security agreements and foreclosing
mortgages, and is experienced in handling all aspects of landlord-tenant disputes and eviction proceedings.
As a former Chairman and member of the Broward County and State of Florida Board of Directors of the
American Civil Liberties Union, Mr. Corman has litigated numerous cases involving Civil Rights and
Constitutional Law. Mr. Corman has handled cases involving freedom of speech and religion as protected by the
First Amendment to the United States Constitution, abortion rights, the right of having access to the Courts and
employment and housing discrimination. Mr. Corman regularly speaks at educational seminars sponsored by the
Florida Bar and other civic and educational organizations about employment and Constitutional Law issues.
As a dedicated supporter of public education, Mr. Corman has served on Education Committees for the Palm
Beach County Business Development Board and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and as an appointed
member of the City of Boca Raton’s Education Advisory Board. Mr. Corman currently serves as a Board Member
and as Secretary of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association.
