FORT LAUDERDALE, FL –Greenspoon Marder Law has once again expanded its internship program and opened its doors to young adults who are students at The Marino Campus, offering them an opportunity for on the job experience.

Throughout the course of the past five years, Greenspoon Marder has contributed over $500,000 in financial and in-kind donations to The Dan Marino Foundation to further the Foundation’s mission of “empowering individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.” As part of their support, each year, the Firm invites Marino Campus students to participate in an internship program. The program gives students a chance to gain meaningful work experience at the Firm, working in its Office Services Department and Mailroom.

Since its inception in 1981, the Firm has followed the example set forth by founding partners Gerald Greenspoon and Michael Marder, to support and improve the communities “where our families live, work and play.” Greenspoon Marder established its internship program as part of its overall commitment to contributing to the community.

“Through partnerships with community-driven employers like Greenspoon Marder, our students have the opportunity to put into practice the skills they’ve learned in hospitality and computer technology classes at The Marino Campus,” said Dr. Tammy Bresnahan, Director of Academic Programs.” Many of our students have never worked before and were a little apprehensive about starting their first internships. We’re proud to say that every student placed at Greenspoon Marder has reported nothing but excitement and enthusiasm for their chance to work.”

Four students from The Marino Campus intern two days per week at Greenspoon Marder. On the other days, they attend industry, employment, and social skills classes at the Campus. These internship opportunities help The Marino Campus to prepare young adults with autism and differing abilities for gainful employment, social competence, and independent living by building the necessary skills through a unique postsecondary opportunity.

About The Dan Marino Foundation: The Dan Marino Foundation, Inc., a 501(c) 3 organization was established in 1992 by Dan and Claire Marino, motivated by their experiences in raising their son, Michael, who is diagnosed with autism. The Foundation’s mission is “empowering individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.” For over 24 years, the Foundation has served individuals with disabilities in South Florida and raised $55 million to create unique and impactful initiatives in the community.
