Greenspoon Marder Law’s Steven Fender to Serve as a Panelist for the Strafford’s CLE Webinar

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – November 30, 2015 – Steven Fender, an Of Counsel attorney in Greenspoon Marder Law’s Fort Lauderdale office, will serve as a panelist for the Strafford’s CLE webinar. The webinar, which will take place on Tuesday, December 1 from 1:00-2:30 p.m., will concentrate on matters pertaining to maximizing creditor recovery from or asset protection for debtors, shareholders, and related entities.

The panel, titled “Leveraging Substantive Consolidation, Piercing the Veil, and Alter Ego in Bankruptcy Proceedings,” will focus on factors surrounding the application of alter ego and piercing the veil theories in court, substantive consolidation in bankruptcy court, and best practices for creditors, debtors, and bankruptcy trustees.

Fender focuses his practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters, in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients across the United States in a variety of employment disputes, shareholder negotiations and disputes, contract claims, unfair competition litigation, intellectual property, business tort and contract matters. He has also handled numerous appeals in both state and federal court systems.

Fender is an active member of The Florida Bar, where he has served as past Chair of the State/Federal Judicial Liaison Committee for the Business Law Section and as Chair of the Business Litigation Committee. He is currently the incoming Chair of the American Bar Association’s Consumer Bankruptcy Committee. Fender is rated AV Preeminent by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and was named to South Florida’s Top Rated Lawyers in 2012. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Duke University.
