GREENSPOON MARDER SHAREHOLDER ROBERT M. PRESTON APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE MATRIMONIAL LAW COMMITTEE OF THE NEW YORK CITY BAR ASSOCIATION

NEW YORK – July 25, 2016 – Greenspoon Marder shareholder, Robert M. Preston, was recently appointed to serve on the Matrimonial Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. Preston’s three year term will begin September 2016. Committee members of the New York City Bar have the opportunity to be involved in drafting reports, commenting and testifying on legislation, sponsoring continuing legal education, and participating in public service projects.

The Matrimonial Law Committee addresses issues related to the family and the practice of matrimonial law. Among its many efforts, the Committee reviews, assesses and, when appropriate, reports to the City Bar on legislation that directly or indirectly impacts the practice of matrimonial law. Most recently, members of the Committee are participating in the preparation of a report for submission to the New York State Law Revision Commission.

Preston focuses his practice on matrimonial and family law. For over 25 years, he has handled highly complex domestic relations cases and appeals. Preston has conducted a substantial number of custody and financial trials relating to all phases of family law in the Supreme and Family Courts in New York City and its surrounding counties. In addition to his recent committee appointment, he was also appointed to serve as the co-Chair of the Family Court Sub-committee of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
