Benjamin Zakarin is Associate in the Litigation practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. He represents clients in all phases of complex commercial disputes, focusing on securities litigation, government investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zakarin served for five years at the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, including three years as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Securities Fraud Prosecution practice group. In that capacity, Mr. Zakarin investigated and prosecuted numerous securities fraud matters, frequently partnering with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice. He also has extensive experience developing and drafting regulations, most recently as the architect of the state’s proposed “Uniform Fiduciary Rule” for the securities industry.
Mr. Zakarin earned his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2014, where he was a member of the Editorial Staff for the Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor in 2010 after majoring in History and Political Science.
