Jason D. Silver

Associate
Overview

Jason is an associate in the Financial Services practice group. He handles all facets of consumer finance litigation on behalf of financial institutions in Florida, New York, and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts throughout Florida and New York and frequently represents creditors in those Courts.

He also practices general civil litigation and municipal and government law, having presided as the Deputy Municipal Attorney at monthly municipal meetings at the Village of El Portal, Florida. He has assisted with the representation in election related disputes, municipal Zoning Board related disputes, a municipality’s effort to implement a Form-Cased Code, and interned at the Office of the City Attorney at the City of Miami while in law school. He is a member of the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association (FMAA) and is a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator.

Regarding service to the bar, he currently is a member of The Florida Bar’s Constitutional Judiciary Committee, where he has been appointed has Vice Chair for 2020, and serves on Grievance Committee 17 I where was also appointed Vice Chair for 2020. He served as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee for Student Education and Admissions to the Bar in 2019, is a past President of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Law Student Division, and previously was as an elected member of The Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section’s Board of Directors and wrote for the Cuban American Bar Association’s CABA Briefs magazine.

He was a Team Captain for Cycle for Survival in 2020, serves on the City of Ft. Lauderdale’s Community Appearance Board, previously served on the Young Leadership Division Board of Directors with the Jewish Federation of Broward County, lectured and coached for the mock trial competition coach at David Posnack Hebrew Day High School through Greenspoon Marder LLP, and is a member of The Federalist Society.

Part of the communications staff for the Miami Dolphins seasonally since 2009, he worked Superbowls XLIV and LIV, the Pro Bowl in Miami, and the 2008 FedEx BCS National Championship game in Miami.

He is an avid runner and indoor cyclist and successfully completed the ING Miami Half Marathon and 13.1 races in 2011 and the Hollywood Beach Half Marathon in 2020.

Silver graduated the University of Florida where he was tapped into Florida Blue Key and the St. Thomas University School of Law.
