Joseph Dougherty is an associate in the Corporate & Business practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. He focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions of private companies, preferred equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, financings, and securitization. Mr. Doughery also serves as general counsel to companies on day-to-day strategic and structural advice.
Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Mr. Dougherty worked as a senior associate at boutique business law firms in New York, advising clients on financing, restructuring, private equity, and mergers and acquisition matters. He also served as general counsel and head of business development for a technology company. In his role, he drafted and negotiated various agreements related to employment, joint venture, power of purchase, and organizational documents.
Mr. Dougherty earned his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, he was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Law. He also received his Master’s degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University and his Bachelors of Science in Biology and Environmental Science from Rutgers University.
