Greenspoon Marder Attorney Cindy Crawford Appointed to Florida Bar Grievance Committee

West Palm Beach, Fla. – March 31, 2016 – Greenspoon Marder attorney, Cindy Crawford, has been appointed to Florida Bar Grievance Committee A by the Florida Bar Board of Governors.

Crawford will work with her fellow committee members and Florida Bar Counsel to investigate complaints of misconduct by fellow lawyers. Cindy will help to conduct investigations to determine whether there is probable cause for further disciplinary proceedings.

Grievance committees are made up of volunteer members, at least one-third of whom are not lawyers. Each of Florida’s 20 judicial circuits has at least one such committee. The grievance committee reviews complaints with much the same purpose as a grand jury. That is, the committee decides, after a case is submitted to them by bar counsel, whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated the professional conduct rules imposed by the Supreme Court of Florida and whether discipline against the lawyer appears to be warranted.

Cindy A. Crawford is senior counsel in the Marital & Family Law department of Greenspoon Marder’s West Palm Beach office. For over 10 years, she has focused her practice on representing clients in matters pertaining to complex dissolution of marriage, paternity, prenuptial agreements, alimony, child support, equitable distribution and parental responsibility.

Prior to devoting her career to the practice of marital and family law, Crawford served as a felony prosecutor for the Office of the State Attorney, 15th Judicial Circuit, where she tried over 50 jury and non-jury trials. She also served as Chief of a Criminal Circuit Court Division and was responsible for training and overseeing junior attorneys. Prior to relocating to Florida in 2002, she served as a judicial law clerk in the 19th Circuit of Virginia and practiced law at a prestigious law firm in Washington, D.C. The breadth of Crawford’s experience provides her with the ability to effectively and efficiently handle the various legal issues that frequently present themselves in situations involving marriage and family.
