FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – April 6, 2017 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that attorney Steven Fender has been appointed as the Chair of the Consumer Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Business Law Section.

Mr. Fender was recently a featured speaker at the American Bar Association Consumer Bankruptcy Committee’s Webinar. The program titled “Fraud Respecting the Debtor’s Financial Condition Under 11 U.S.C. Section 523(a)(2) Through Oral Statements,” consisted of a panel of bankruptcy practitioners, discussing the federal circuit split on whether a debt incurred based upon false oral representations respecting financial conditions is dischargeable.

Mr. Fender focuses his practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters, in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients across the United States in a variety of employment disputes, shareholder negotiations and disputes, contract claims, unfair competition litigation, intellectual property, business tort and contract matters. His peers recently appointed him Chair of the State/Federal Judicial Liaison Committee for the Business Law Section of The Bar.
