New York, NY – May 17, 2018 – Greenspoon Marder partner, Heather Burke, will be a featured speaker at the 1 in New York on May 17 st Annual Cannabis Law Summit th – May 18 th. The conference will convene leaders across many legal sectors including private, government, and advocacy organizations. The first day of the summit covers a broad overview of current medical programs and legislative legalization efforts. The second day is a legal primer for practitioners.
Ms. Burke represents medical cannabis patients and cultivators throughout California and in federal court with a focus on cottage and small cultivators in Northern California. She was instrumental in multiple precedent-setting cases, including litigating cannabis’ Schedule I designation in a lengthy evidentiary hearing in the federal District Court in 2014-2015, as well as the 2012 case which says dispensaries may operate lawful in the State of California, among others.
