MEMBER OF THE FLORIDA BAR CELEBRATION

Amelia Island, FL – December 1, 2017 – Greenspoon Marder is proud to support the Evett L. Simmons 35^th Anniversary as Member of The Florida Bar Celebration on December 1– 2, 2017 at Fernandina Beach in Amelia Island. The two day event will honor Greenspoon Marder shareholder and Chief Diversity Officer, Evett Simmons and celebrate her 35^th year as an attorney and as the first African American sworn in on Amelia Island.

On December 1^st beginning at 5 PM, there will be a book signing at the American Beach Community Center where guest will receive a signed copy of Ms. Simmons book and enjoy a night of barbecue, seafood and live music, as well as a private tour of the American Beach Museum. The celebration will conclude on December 2^nd with a celebration program at Trinity United Methodist Church and a reception at the Women’s Club.

Ms. Simmons concentrates her practice in the areas of probate and guardianship administration, estate planning and elder law. She has been recognized by a variety of respected organizations, associations, and businesses. She has been president of several bar associations, including the National Bar Association. She just completed a term as Chair of The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and the American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. Recently, she was named to represent the NBA on the ABA’s newly formed Diversity and Inclusion Center Advisory Council. In addition, Ms. Simmons currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Florida Southern College Florida which, in 2013, named its multicultural center the “Evett L. Simmons Center for Multicultural Awareness.”
