GREENSPOON MARDER’S EVETT SIMMONS NEW CHAIR OF THE FLORIDA BAR’S CLE COMMITTEE

Port St. Lucie, FL – June 1, 2016 – Greenspoon Marder shareholder Evett L. Simmons has been appointed chair of The Florida Bar’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee. Her term will commence with the close of the 2016 Annual Florida Bar Convention taking place in Orlando from June 15-18.

“I am honored to have been selected, and look forward to leading the talented team that has been assembled from across Florida in aid of our local legal community,” said Simmons.

The mission of the Continuing Legal Education Committee is to assist the members of The Florida Bar in their continuing legal education, and facilitates the production and distribution of quality CLE programs and publications.

Located at Greenspoon Marder’s office in Port St. Lucie, Simmons chairs the firm’s diversity committee. She concentrates her practice in litigation, probate and guardianship administration.

Prior to her new appointment, Simmons served as vice-chair of The Florida Bar’s CLE Committee. She is also a past president of the National Bar Association and a past president of the Port St. Lucie Bar Association. A former member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors, the State of Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission, and the Board of Directors of Enterprise Florida, Inc, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Florida Southern College and the American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession.
