Alexis Whitley
Associate
Alexis Whitley is an associate in the Tax practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP’s Denver office. She focuses her practice on tax, bankruptcy, securities and private equity, antitrust, white-collar defense, and finance law.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Ms. Whitley served as a legal extern at Greenspoon Marder, where she contributed to high-level legal analysis and publications, conducted complex research, and drafted memoranda and legal documents critical to case strategy. She also gained valuable financial experience through her prior accounting positions.
Ms. Whitley has developed experience in tax law through her work with the University of Denver Sturm College of Law’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic and the ABA Law Student Tax Challenge. Additionally, she honed her oral advocacy expertise by competing in the 32nd Annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition and various mock trial competitions. Her legal knowledge also includes a strong foundation in corporate governance, financial markets, and transactional law, informing her approach to advising clients on legal and regulatory matters.
Ms. Whitley served as editor-in-chief of The Race to the Bottom, a corporate law blog at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she oversaw the review, editing, and publication of scholarly articles and research on emerging legal issues in numerous areas of corporate law, such as governance, cryptocurrency, and taxes.
