Greenspoon Marder Launches Life Settlement Practice Group

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 14, 2008 – The law firm of Greenspoon Marder, P.A. has announced the launch of its life settlement practice group. “Life Insurance is a time-honored tradition providing solutions to meet varying financial needs,” said William Berger, a senior partner with the firm. “However, circumstances often change over time. The ability to obtain cash from the sale of a life insurance policy via a life settlement offers a unique opportunity to fulfill a wide range of financial and estate planning needs, both to the policy holder and to the insurance/financial professional.”

A nationally recognized provider of legal services to the life settlement industry, Greenspoon Marder is a member of the Life Insurance Settlement Association and provides expert counsel to life settlement brokers, providers and viators in all life settlement transactions, state regulatory compliance, licensing, trade practice defense and marketing and advertising compliance. Berger will be supervising Greenspoon Marder’s life settlement practice group. He is co-chair of the firm’s litigation department and the business development department. His trial practice is currently concentrated in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Over his 36-year legal career, Berger has litigated and tried more than 50 jury and 350 non-jury trials spanning the areas of commercial, probate, trust, real estate, title insurance, construction litigation and domestic matter cases throughout the state of Florida, as well as in the State Supreme Court of New York.
