FT. LAUDERDALE, FLA. (Thurs., Aug. 2, 2012) – Greenspoon Marder shareholder Robby H. Birnbaum, Esq. has been named as one of the “2012 40 Under 40” by South Florida Business Journal. The award ceremony, which honors the region’s best and brightest professionals under 40 years old for their professional success and community involvement, was held on August 2nd at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Birnbaum has established himself as a nationally recognized regulatory lawyer, especially when it comes to consumer marketing for businesses and programs that assist consumers who are in debt. He has been called upon numerous times to speak to large groups of companies, state and federal regulators, and consumers who need assistance with managing consumer debt. Most recently, he helped establish a “Seal of Approval” program for consumer debt relief providers to help consumers who are victims of unlawful financial practices to identify compliant and safer companies that can help them.

As the founder of Greenspoon Marder’s Regulatory Compliance & Defense practice, Birnbaum has played an integral role in the growth and development of the department, which is now one of the firm’s major practice areas representing more clients in front of state Attorneys’ General and Banking Departments, along with the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He has earned the professional respect of his regulatory counterparts, and most importantly of the clients he serves. Birnbaum has received numerous recognitions for his work including being named to Florida Rising Stars by Super Lawyers Magazine, 2012; Top Up & Comers by South Florida Legal Guide, 2009 – 2011; Daily Business Review’s Most Effective Lawyers, 2009 – 2010; and Up & Comers by South Florida Business Journal, 2006.
