Greenspoon Marder Employees Raise More than $12,000 for Breast Cancer
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Monday, November 1, 2010) – Florida law firm Greenspoon Marder held a month-long, firm-wide fundraiser in October benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Over $12,000 was collected from and raised by Greenspoon Marder employees and attorneys.
The firm regularly contributes to various local and national charities and organizations. Each month, the firm holds a “Charity Jeans Day,” whereby employees who contribute to the designated charity are permitted to wear jeans to work on the last Friday of the month. This fundraiser for Susan G. Komen, however, was culminated at the end of the month with a pink-themed Halloween costume party and was especially meaningful to the firm, which has several employees battling breast cancer.
Employees went above and beyond, selling homemade pastries and dog biscuits, candy, fresh espresso, pink-themed office supplies and coffee mugs, breast cancer awareness pins and bracelets, and even offered themselves up as personal assistants to handle car washes, dry cleaners, lunch deliveries, baby sitting and dog walking.
“The time, effort and passion our employees have put into this fundraiser are a true testament to the team spirit of our firm,” said Co-Founding Shareholder Gerald Greenspoon. “We have really become like a family, and the hope is that our family is somehow able to help the thousands of other families affected by breast cancer each year.”
