Greenspoon Marder, a full-service business law firm, has promoted five new shareholders to its ever-expanding team.
Dariel Abrahamy, has been promoted to shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale, Cypress Creek office where he concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, real estate law, landlord-tenant law, commercial foreclosures, as well as contracts and business disputes. Dariel attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he obtained a B.S.B.A. from the Olin School of Business. He then returned to South Florida where he received his J.D. from the University of Miami’s School of Law.
Jeffrey Backman, has been promoted to shareholder in the Downtown Fort Lauderdale office where he is a member of the firm’s Complex Business Litigation Group and focuses his practice on commercial litigation and class action defense. He was born and raised in South Florida and admitted to The Florida Bar in 2003. Prior to obtaining his law degree, summa cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, Jeffrey earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University.
Heidi Boyles, has been promoted to shareholder in the Orlando office where she is a member of the Real Estate and Complex Commercial Transactions Groups. She has represented developers, buyers, sellers, lenders, borrowers, landlords and tenants, in a variety of industries, in sophisticated real estate and commercial transactions. Ms. Boyles is experienced in handling residential and mixed-use condominium projects, timeshare projects, hotel/resorts, residential developments, apartment projects, undeveloped land, office/retail buildings, restaurants, and the acquisition and sale of companies and assets.
Amanda Chapman, has been promoted to shareholder in the Orlando office where she is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group and focuses her practice primarily on commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, non-compete issues, landlord/tenant issues, and commercial foreclosure. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Chapman advises clients on compliance with the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She has practiced before the federal, state, and appellate courts in Florida and in other states.
Elizabeth Tener, has been promoted to shareholder in the Orlando office where she handles a wide range of marital and family law matters, including: traditional and collaborative divorce; alimony, child custody and child support; valuation of marital and non-marital assets; pre- and post-nuptial agreements; paternity; adoption; and domestic violence. Prior to working at Greenspoon Marder, Ms. Tener worked as a former Assistant State Attorney and litigated more than 50 jury trials with the State Attorney’s office as a felony prosecutor for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in West Palm Beach.
