Newark, N.J. – May 11, 2023 – Greenspoon Marder partner Kelly M. Purcaro has been recognized as a 2023 “New Jersey Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine. Ms. Purcaro, previously recognized as a Rising Star five times by the organization, is honored to receive her first Super Lawyer recognition. In addition, partner Brett M. Buterick and senior counsel Kory Ann Ferro have been recognized as “New Jersey Rising Stars” for 2023. Mr. Buterick has been ranked consecutively in the Rising Stars category since 2019 while Ms. Ferro has been ranked consecutively in the Rising Stars category since 2018.

Each year, the Super Lawyers publication recognizes the top 5% of lawyers across each state via a patented multiphase selection process combining both peer nomination and evaluations with independent research. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, however, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. While up to 5% of the lawyers in the state are named Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list.
Ms. Purcaro specializes in complex commercial litigation across the United States. As a seasoned trial attorney, Ms. Purcaro is experienced in an array of litigation matters, including state and national multi-party business disputes, class actions, employment disputes, consumer fraud, breach of contract, and restrictive covenants litigation. Often in her practice, Ms. Purcaro represents both individual and institutional clients in their most sensitive matters.
Mr. Buterick regularly advises franchisors, technology startups, consumer products companies, and established businesses in matters involving licensing, regulatory compliance, and complex business litigation. He has substantial experience in launching more than 60 franchise brands and annually assists companies navigate state and federal franchise registration and renewal laws.
Ms. Ferro has an extensive background representing local, national, and global companies in commercial litigation on both the plaintiff and defense sides. Ms. Ferro’s litigation experience includes employment law, breach of contract including violations of restrictive covenants, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, breach of fiduciary duties, tortious interference, misappropriation of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, patent violations, and defamation.
