Chicago – November 15, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder formally congratulates Amethyst Health on securing a Registered Organization (RO) license from the New York State Cannabis Control Board (CCB). Partners Irina Dashevsky and David Standa represented Amethyst and Ayr Wellness.
Ayr Wellness is a leading vertically integrated multi-state cannabis operator that serves as the operational partner and minority owner of Amethyst, the social equity applicant that has been conditionally awarded the license. Black Star Wellness LLC is the majority owner of Amethyst. The decision was confirmed during the CCB’s meeting earlier this week.
The firm’s extensive experience in cannabis law and New York’s cannabis regulations proved critical throughout the application process. Ms. Dashevsky and Mr. Standa provided essential regulatory and corporate counsel to help secure the licensure.

An RO license is among the most challenging to obtain in New York’s cannabis market, granting businesses the exclusive authority to cultivate, manufacture, distribute, and retail medical cannabis products within the state.
