Building Connections Across the U.S. and Israel
Greenspoon Marder was pleased to recently deepen its ties with the Israeli business community through another visit by managing partner Rebecca Bratter and partner Roy Masuri. Rebecca and Roy met with Israeli clients and a broad mix of organizations, including startups, investors, and major industry groups such as real estate, airlines, global logistics businesses and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). Their focus was on supporting U.S. operations and connecting companies with the firm’s network across the country.
Additionally, the team met and strengthened relationships with leading Israeli law firms and accounting firms in order to assist and support their clients’ needs in the U.S., as well as to locate the firms that can support Greenspoon Marder’s clients who have legal needs in Israel. From startups to established enterprises, the discussions underscored the Israeli market’s strength, innovation, and global outlook, along with strong opportunities for collaboration ahead.
Empowering Israeli Veterans Through Entrepreneurship
In addition to these efforts abroad, the firm was proud to host an inspiring event at its New York office in support of Lifros Kanaf – לפרוש כנף (Spread Your Wings), an organization dedicated to empowering wounded Israel Defense Forces (IDF) veterans, many of whom are living with PTSD.
The event featured participants from the organization’s White Sail Program, a unique initiative that supports injured soldiers as they transition into civilian life by developing purpose-driven entrepreneurial ventures. Attendees—investors, founders, and other professionals in the ecosystem—had the opportunity to hear firsthand from these remarkable individuals, who shared the impactful social initiatives they are building following an intensive leadership and rehabilitation journey, while providing some insights and support for the soldiers’ initiatives. Their stories of resilience, determination, and innovation left a lasting impression on all in attendance.
Partner Roy Masuri joined the event in support of Lifros Kanaf’s mission. The evening served as a powerful reminder of the transformative role that community, mentorship, and entrepreneurship can play in rebuilding lives and shaping a brighter future.

Longtime partners Alan Cohn and Gene Glasser were also recognized for their dedication and service to the Jewish community at the Jewish Federation of Broward County’s Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony.
In addition, attorneys from the firm participated in several community-focused events, including the Jewish Lawyers Association of Miami-Dade County’s Annual Reception, the Goodman JFS Joshua’s Path Program Graduation Ceremony, and the Jewish Bar Association of Broward County’s Young Lawyers Section (YLS) Happy Hour.

By: Elizabeth Somerstein
Greenspoon Marder LLP
Florida’s Live Local framework was designed to accelerate housing supply by granting consistent, by-right development pathways for qualifying multifamily projects with specified income-restricted units. “4.0” refers to the anticipated 2026 enhancements that further expand where projects can go, and the scope of property tax advantages.
For Israeli capital, Live Local opens infill and suburban land that was previously uneconomic under local zoning, enables more efficient rental formats with faster lease-up timelines, and adds tax features that can enhance projected cash flow metrics.

Israel’s Courts Limit Class Actions Against Foreign Companies to Israeli Consumers
By: Eyal Doron
S. Horowitz & Co.
A recent district court ruling confirms that companies facing class actions in Israel generally need only address claims by Israeli citizens and residents, not foreign consumers with no meaningful connection to the Israeli legal system.
In a decision dated April 17, 2026, the Lod District Court (Central District) held that a certified class action against Booking.com and Expedia—concerning alleged anticompetitive “price parity clauses” in hotel booking agreements—may proceed only on behalf of Israeli citizens and residents. The Court rejected the request to include foreign nationals who booked Israeli hotels from abroad, reasoning that Israeli class action law should not be applied to individuals who never submitted to Israeli jurisdiction, never authorized the proceedings, and may not even know the lawsuit exists.
