FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – October 29, 2015 – Greenspoon Marder Law is pleased to announce that the firm will be hosting two important events at the upcoming Florida Democratic Party State Convention, which is being held in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, from October 30 to November 1, 2015.
On Saturday, October 31, the firm will host a breakfast to honor the Emanuel 9 and mark the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The event will feature keynote speaker, The Honorable Mayor Kasim Reed, Mayor of the City of Atlanta, and pay homage to the nine people who lost their lives in the shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015 in Charleston, South Carolina. The event will also celebrate the historic achievements of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the legislation’s profound impact on our nation’s democracy.
Greenspoon Marder will also host the Convention’s Equality Brunch on Sunday, November 1. The event will be devoted to members of the LGBTA community and will feature guest speaker Evan Wolfson, Founder and President of Freedom to Marry. Freedom to Marry, which was created in 2003, is a nationwide campaign aimed at providing all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, the right to marry.
