Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – September 9, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder land use and zoning partner Dennis Mele has been appointed as special counsel to assist in the matter involving the Heron Pond condominium complex in Pembroke Pines, Fla. Mr. Mele will provide critical analysis on the 25-acre, 304-unit property’s redevelopment potential to enhance its sale value.
The Heron Pond complex, affected by significant structural issues and safety concerns, has faced considerable scrutiny from unit owners opposed to the receiver’s plan to address its urgent safety issues and proceed with the sale of the property. Mr. Mele’s involvement is crucial in evaluating redevelopment opportunities and navigating these contentious issues effectively.
Mr. Mele is widely recognized for his work in land use, zoning, environmental and governmental law. Having experience as a land planner and a city manager, he has a unique understanding of the myriad issues developers, property owners and local governments face; and is able to advise clients on a wide range of complex matters.
