Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – June 18, 2025 – Greenspoon Marder is proud to announce that partner Liz Somerstein has been appointed to serve as co-chair of the Infrastructure and Growth Leadership Pillar under the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Six Pillars Broward 2045 initiative.
Six Pillars Broward 2045 is a bold, community-driven initiative aimed at creating a shared vision and action plan that will guide Broward County’s economic and community success through the year 2045.
The Infrastructure and Growth Leadership Pillar is one of six pillars dedicated to promoting smart, sustainable development with strategic investments in housing, mobility, and climate-resilient infrastructure. This Pillar highlights the fundamental contributions of factors such as transportation, water and environmental protection, and land use to a vibrant economy. Smart and timely investments in strategies tied to sustainable infrastructure targets will result in economic prosperity for all of Broward County.
Through the Infrastructure & Growth Leadership Pillar, community and business leaders can work together to plan for sustainable growth, ensuring Broward County is well-positioned for economic expansion.
As co-chair, Ms. Somerstein will assist in leading efforts to shape policies that align infrastructure investments with projected growth, economic development and community needs.

Ms. Somerstein focuses her practice on representing real estate developers, property owners, and national corporations in all aspects of the regulatory process involving complex land use and zoning matters. She is credentialed by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED AP BD+C, an advanced professional credential obtained by only those professionals with significant expertise in the design and construction phases of green buildings, serving the commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors.
