Boca Raton, Fla. – May 16, 2023 – During the American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) 2023 Spring Conference held in Orlando, Florida from May 8-10, Greenspoon Marder partner Robby H. Birnbaum was presented with The Robert Linderman Debt Resolution Service Award for 2023. This award is a highly respected industry honor that acknowledges Mr. Birnbaum’s exceptional contributions to the debt settlement industry. Moreover, Mr. Birnbaum participated in the AFCC conference as a keynote speaker with his presentation titled “Debt Resolution Industry and Compliance Update,” where he covered the latest on regulatory compliance and new approaches to marketing, requirements in operations, and updates on lead generation and lending.
Formed in April 2011, The American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) is an advocate of consumer rights for Americans in financial hardship with unmanageable unsecured debt burdens. The AFCC supports consumers by setting high standards and defining, promoting, and enforcing best practices for the debt settlement industry. They strongly advocate for strong legislative and regulatory environments that protect consumers and their ability to access quality, effective debt settlement options.
Mr. Birnbaum is a partner and Practice Group Leader of the Regulatory Compliance and Financial Services practice groups in the firm, with his practice focusing on regulatory compliance and the lawful operation of debt settlement companies. He has extensive experience representing all types and sizes of settlement businesses in front of state attorneys general, state banking and credit regulators, and federal agencies. Mr. Birnbaum is currently the Vice Chairman of the AFCC and previously served as President of the association.
