Mr. Rando will discuss recent Supreme Court decisions involving Intellectual Property Law issues as well as the potential impact of the decisions on other areas of law. He will also discuss American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. v. Neapco Holdings LLC, et al., No. 20-891, U.S. Sup. Ct. (March 1, 2021). Although it was not decided in the current term, the petition for certiorari is still pending and the Court has invited the Solicitor General to weigh in on it. The case concerns the highly controversial issue of patent eligibility that continues to stymie congress and has generated a considerable amount of attention including an amicus brief filed by Mr. Rando on behalf of amici U.S. Senator Thom Tillis, former Federal Circuit Chief Judge Paul R. Michel (ret.) and former USPTO Director David J. Kappos.
The FBA promotes the education, professional development, interests, education, and welfare of all attorneys involved in federal law. From attorneys practicing small to large firms, the FBA is the communication between the bar and the bench, as well as the public and private sectors.
