PRESENTS THE JULIE KAY AMICUS AWARD

Miami, FL – December 16, 2016 – Greenspoon Marder shareholder Deborah Baker-Egozi presented the Julie Kay Amicus Award at the Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers Judicial Reception. Ms. Baker-Egozi had the honor of presenting the first Julie Kay Amicus Award to Craig Leen, the City Attorney and chief legal officer for the City of Coral Gables.

The award was established in honor of the beloved Julie Kay who passed away earlier this year. Julie was a reporter for The Daily Business Review who covered the business of law. During the course of her career, she received numerous awards for her writing and was widely known recognized for her attention to critical issues affecting women attorneys.

Baker-Egozi currently sits on the Florida Bar Board of Governors. She was the 2014-2015 president of Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL), and was instrumental in the passage of legislation outlawing revenge pornography.  In addition, she is a Civil Rights Committee Member for the Anti-Defamation League.
