Orlando, Fla.- April 18, 2016—Jeffrey A. Backman, a shareholder in the Complex Litigation department of Greenspoon Marder’s Fort Lauderdale office, recently served as a panelist speaker at the PACE 2016 Convention & Expo which was held at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla. and focused on the legal landscape of the latest TCPA updates.
The discussion titled, “Adapting Your Customer Engagement Strategy Within a Highly Charged, TCPA Regulated Environment” aimed to provide practical satrategies on how to avoid becoming a legal target and help minimize internal and third-party liability risks. PACE is the Professional Association for Customer Engagement. PACE is the only non-profit trade organization dedicated exclusively to the advancement of companies that use a multi-channel approach to engaging their customers, both business to business and business to consumer. These channels include contact centers, email, chat, social media, web and text.
“We are happy to be invovled with PACE, and with an ever-evolving legal landscape regarding TCPA regulatory matters, this organization offers a great platform for us to speak to those who may be impacted by these changes,” said Backman.
Backman is a shareholder in Greenspoon Marder’s Complex Business Litigation group in Ft. Lauderdale. Within the firm’s Complex Business Litigation group, Mr. Backman focuses his practice on complex class action defense and general commercial litigation. He has defended clients in federal courts throughout the country, and is at the forefront of the legal landscape involving the telemarketing industry. He advises clients in legal compliance matters and defends clients before all regulatory bodies such as the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communication Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and States Attorneys General.
Backman currently serves on the Publications Board of the Defense Research Institute’s Commercial Litigation Committee and is an active member of The Florida Bar and The Broward County Bar Association. He has been named a Florida Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine (2009-2015), a 40 Under 40 Rising Star by the Daily Business Review (2014), and a Top Up & Comer by the South Florida Legal Guide (2015). He earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and his Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University.
