Greenspoon Marder Successfully Defends
Developers in Federal Jury Trial As No Fraud is Found
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – May 25, 2016 – Beth-Ann Krimsky of Greenspoon Marder successfully represented Talat and Jason Radwan, as well as Cortez Holiding Group Inc., in a three week jury trial over investments in a Ft. Lauderdale hotel project. The lawsuit was brought by Al-Ghena International Corp. and Shairco for Trading in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida with Judge Dimitrouleas presiding.
The questions presented to the jury included fraud and breach of contract claims all of which were rejected by the jury. In addition, the Radwans and Cortez Holding Group Inc. received a sanctions order against Plaintiffs and are awaiting the amount of attorney’s fees they will be recovering.
The plaintiffs sought approximately $12 million, plus punitive damages, but were only granted a portion of one count, of eight (8) counts, for an alleged duty for $214,000 against Cortez Holding Group Inc. only, and none against the Radwans.
This victory was spearheaded by Greenspoon Marder shareholder and trial attorney Beth-Ann Ellenberg Krimsky, with second chair Steven Fender and assistance from law clerk Eric D. Coleman.
