Firm attorney, Mayor Frances Suarez, will be the conference’s keynote speaker; additionally, firm partner, Manuel L. Crespo, will be featured as moderator of the Real Estate Panel. The event will be celebrating the release of the 4th edition of Invest: Miami, which is esteemed as the most comprehensive business report published in Miami-Dade County.
Mr. Suarez is of counsel in the Corporate & Business practice group at Greenspoon Marder. He has over 13 years of experience in real estate and corporate finance, covering the gamut of clients’ real estate needs, from acquisitions and financing to sales and joint ventures. Mr. Suarez serves as the current mayor of the City of Miami. Formerly, he served as Commissioner for the City of Miami, District 4, working to raise the standards of the city in which he was born and raised. He is dedicated to elevating the quality of life in Miami and focuses on improving transportation and connectivity issues, nurturing a tech-based economy, and creating jobs and international opportunities with Latin America. Mr. Suarez was recognized as the 2017 Elected Official of the Year by the Latin Builder’s Association.
Mr. Crespo is a partner in the Real Estate practice group at Greenspoon Marder. For many years, he has concentrated his practice in real estate and commercial transactions, including title insurance, condominium development and the conversion existing rental unit buildings to condominium ownership. His institutional clients have included national banks and real estate developers; he has also represented builders, contractors, and private equity lenders. In addition to the practice of law, Mr. Crespo has made a significant and continuing contribution to the community. He has formerly served as president of the Cuban-American Bar Association, as one of the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association, and as co-chair of the Florida Bar Committee for Diversity and Inclusion, to name a few of his notable positions and honors.
