Miami, Fla., – August 30, 2022 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that partner Deborah Baker has been selected to be a presenter at the 2022 FDLA Leaders Summit. The annual conference is a uniquely designed leadership retreat for an impressive collection of senior law firm leaders and emerging leaders, and will feature keynote speaker, Florida Supreme Court Justice John D. Couriel. The conference is geared towards discussing topics focused on law firm succession planning, attracting and retaining talent, creating systems to screen conflicts, communication skills for leaders and community initiatives.
Ms. Baker will contribute to the Associate Development Programs panel, which will focus on firm initiatives related to the recruitment, development, and associate advancement. Ms. Baker’s presentation will spotlight the implementation of Greenspoon Marder’s attorney development program, including its mentorship and core skills training programs, and attorney wellness and retention programs.
Ms. Baker is not only a partner in the litigation practice group at Greenspoon Marder, she is also the firm’s Director of Attorney Development. Ms. Baker is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and has been appointed by the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court to act as a Special Magistrate to assist the Court, litigants, and their counsel in resolving discovery disputes in lawsuits pending in the Complex Business Litigation Division. Previously, Ms. Baker represented both public and private companies in a variety of corporate litigation matters and has litigated shareholder derivative lawsuits through trial and appeals, ending with favorable outcomes for her clients. Ms. Baker has extensive trial experience in both jury and non-jury cases, and consequently has handled several successful appeals in her career.
