States Issuing Orders Suspending Application of Statutes of Limitation and Mandatory Filing Deadlines

As the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, some states are issuing orders suspending the application of statutes of limitation and mandatory filing deadlines. These orders may present an issue to our clients who are relying on those laws to clear judgment liens, mechanics and construction liens, rights of creditors in probate, and other matters from title. The details of these orders vary from state to state and even from courthouse to courthouse. We encourage you to contact your title company to ensure that you have met the statute of limitation or mandatory filing deadline.
