Matthew Schiller is senior counsel in the Tax practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP, concentrating in the complex field of tax controversy, with a focus on representing cannabis companies, and a mission to achieve fair taxation and treatment of cannabis companies and their employees. His practice involves representing individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities to resolve unpaid tax liabilities, in audits, and in the U.S. Tax Court.

Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Mr. Schiller’s practice encompassed tax debt management and resolution, entity formation issues, and ensuring ongoing compliance for individuals and businesses alike. Mr. Schiller previously served as a consultant for several prominent tax consulting firms, where he resolved tax collection cases nationwide, provided ancillary tax and consulting services, and proactively monitored future tax activities to anticipate and address compliance issues.

Mr. Schiller earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Northern Colorado. His comprehensive background and dedication to staying at the forefront of tax law developments make him a trusted advisor in navigating the complexities of cannabis taxation.
