The moratorium extended by both HUD – Mortgagee Letter 202-13 and the FHFA extends the previous moratorium on Foreclosures and Evictions through June 30, 2020 with the exception being mortgages secured by vacant or abandoned properties. The previous moratorium was set to expire on Sunday May 17, 2020. The HUD moratorium does apply HECM (Reverse Mortgages).
The guidance provides the moratorium applies to Initiation of Foreclosures and to Foreclosures in process.
