New York, NY – August 11, 2026 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that immigration partners Patricia Gannon and Marcela Bermudez helped secure E-2 treaty investor visa approval for Hakibbutz NYC, the company behind a new 18,000-square-foot workspace in Chelsea, New York, built as a home base for Israeli startups entering the U.S. market. The approval clears the way for the company’s founders to operate and grow the business in New York.
Hakibbutz NYC opened this year as a collaboration between Hakibbutz, an Israeli workspace hub, and Israeli Mapped in NY, a platform that tracks Israeli startups in the city. The space hosts investor gatherings, networking events and meetings between Israeli tech companies and U.S. corporations. Zafran Security, an Israeli cybersecurity firm, is among the first companies operating from the facility. The engagement originated through connections cultivated by Greenspoon Marder partners Brian Bloom and Roy Masuri, further reflecting the firm’s strong relationships within the Israeli business community and growing startup ecosystem.
New York remains a top destination for Israeli companies expanding into the U.S. market. Access to U.S. customers, investors, and business partners, along with the city’s proximity to Israel and its established Jewish and Israeli communities, continues to draw founders to establish permanent operations there.
The E-2 visa allows nationals of countries with a qualifying treaty, including Israel, to enter and work in the U.S. based on a substantial investment in a U.S. business. For founders building a physical, ongoing presence like Hakibbutz NYC, E-2 status provides a direct path to running the business on the ground rather than managing it remotely.
