West Palm Beach, Fla. – January 27, 2025 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that Gary S. Lachman has been elected to the Board of Directors of Captains for Clean Water (CFCW). This appointment underscores Mr. Lachman’s commitment to environmental advocacy and community leadership.
CFCW is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving water quality in Florida. The organization is at the forefront of addressing the harmful discharges from Lake Okeechobee into major water systems, including the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie rivers. These discharges have significant environmental and economic impacts, contributing to habitat destruction, posing threats to human health, and causing substantial economic damage to local communities.
The organization collaborates with other prominent environmental groups, such as the Everglades Foundation, to advocate for sustainable water management practices and policies. Together, they strive to protect Florida’s precious water resources and ensure a healthier environment for future generations.
With over 30 years of experience as an international attorney related to entity and transactional structuring, Mr. Lachman brings a wealth of expertise to the CFCW Board. He holds leadership roles in several organizations, including his position on the Johns Hopkins Medicine Neurosurgery Advisory Board.
“I am honored to join the Board of Captains for Clean Water and contribute to their vital mission of safeguarding Florida’s water quality,” said Mr. Lachman. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members and our partners to address the pressing environmental challenges facing our state.”
