Shelton, WA – July 3, 2018 – Greenspoon Marder senior counsel, Kristin Stankiewicz, was recently a featured speaker at the Washington Indian Gaming Association’s Northwest Indian Gaming Conference on June 18th – 20th in Washington. Ms. Stankiewicz spoke on the “Marijuana Money – What are the Compliance Issues?” panel. The session discussed how casinos can detect and handle marijuana money, and how a tribe can keep its casino businesses and cannabis businesses separate.

Ms. Stankiewicz focuses her practice on land use and real estate matters and state and local licensing for cannabis businesses. She previously worked for the Office of Metro Attorney, the general counsel’s office at Portland, Oregon’s regional government, Metro, where she assisted with real estate acquisitions, complex permitting problems and a diverse range of municipal law issues. Ms. Stankiewicz speaks often on cannabis-related issues, including banking for cannabis businesses.
