Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – April 5, 2016 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that attorneys Dariel Abrahamy and Alicia Lewis have been selected as 2016 Rising Stars by the Daily Business Review. The award honors young South Florida lawyers who are making a difference in the community and will continue to do so in the future.
The Rising Stars list spotlights 40 South Florida attorneys under the age of 40 who demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have committed themselves to charitable and professional volunteer work. These individuals exemplify the next generation of leaders within the legal industry.
Dariel J. Abrahamy is a shareholder in Greenspoon Marder’s Commercial and Civil Litigation group. He handles trials and litigation throughout Florida. Mr. Abrahamy has substantial experience in commercial litigation including commercial landlord-tenant disputes, commercial foreclosures, quiet title actions, and represents lenders and servicers against condominium and homeowners’ associations related to the collection of assessments. Mr. Abrahamy also represents clients in business disputes, non-compete matters, contract disputes, real estate, and creditor’s rights matters. Mr. Abrahamy attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he obtained a B.S.B.A. from the Olin School of Business. He then returned to South Florida, receiving his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He is a regular volunteer at Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services.
Alicia J. Lewis advises land developers, local governments, and property owners seeking permit approvals and development entitlements for their real estate projects. She represents clients before state and local governments regarding land use changes, rezoning, site plan approvals, environmental permitting, and comprehensive plan amendments. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Lewis obtained a Master’s of Public Administration and was nominated for the prestigious Rhodes-Marshall Scholarship. Alicia is a regular volunteer at Ft. Lauderdale’s Dillard High School. She is also involved with Emerge Broward, the National Association of Women Lawyers, Urban Land Institute and the Urban League of Broward County.
