Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – February 1, 2023 – Greenspoon Marder commits that 100 percent of firm employees will participate in a community service activity this year. The initiative, titled “Activate,” will encourage, support and track employee involvement for 2023.
The firm will offer multiple opportunities for employees to activate their goals of addressing an unmet need in their area. Methods of meeting these needs include volunteering to help in schools and classrooms, serve food at a local shelter, participate in a beach or open space cleanup, donate canned items to a food bank, make a monetary donation to a charity that aligns with the employee’s values, and more. Greenspoon Marder curates volunteer opportunities and group activities on a regular basis, in addition to coordinating Project New Leaf workshops – the action and mobilization of our talented attorneys across the U.S. to provide pro bono expungement and record sealing services to individuals in underserved communities – to ensure employee participation. As in years past, staff members receive paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to provide flexibility and promote participation in community service events.
“Our charitable activities and contributions to communities across the country have always been part of our DNA. It’s an ongoing mission and strength of the firm. This initiative will work towards achieving a new milestone for our charitable efforts,” said Rebecca Bratter, deputy managing partner of Greenspoon Marder. “We take deep pride in the extensive philanthropic work of our attorneys and staff, and believe it is our duty – and our privilege – to give back to the communities in which we work and live,” she added.
