Mark Somerstein, a shareholder in the Downtown Fort Lauderdale office, concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate acquisition and development, banking and finance, and business law. He has handled sophisticated acquisitions, negotiations of contracts with contractors and architects, leasing and sales of shopping centers throughout the United States and all phases of lending work, including asset based lending.
Somerstein is actively involved with community organizations as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida Law School and a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. More recently, he was selected as the winner of the 2014 Daily Business Review’s Top Dealmakers of the Year Award in Retail. Somerstein earned both his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida
Nico Apfelbaum, an associate in the West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie offices, concentrates his practice in the areas of collections, creditors’ rights, and commercial and UCC litigation for banks and other institutional creditors. He also represents businesses, investors and individuals in a variety of business and contractual disputes.
Apfelbaum is Vice President of the Port St. Lucie Bar Association, a Board Member for the Skobel Charitable Foundation, and a member of the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. He is also a member of the St. Lucie County Bar Association, a member of the Class of 2014 of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s Emerging Leadership Project, and a graduate of Leadership St. Lucie by the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. Apfelbaum received both his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor in Finance from the University of Florida.
