Los Angeles – August 24, 2022 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that partners of the Bankruptcy & Reorganization practice group, Elissa Miller and Howard Ehrenberg, have been named as Daily Journal’s 2022 Top Bankruptcy Lawyers. This special issue of the publication honors leading practitioners and attorneys admitted to practice in California that specialize in bankruptcy law. The Daily Journal is a publisher based in the Los Angeles-San Francisco region that provides Californian attorneys with informational updates on court decisions, the State Bar, regulatory changes, and material relating to the legal community.
Ms. Miller is a well-established bankruptcy lawyer and fiduciary, with proficient experience in practicing law in Los Angeles since 1985 – including a 26-year tenure at a boutique bankruptcy firm. In addition, Ms. Miller has previously represented both secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, and trustees in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. In turn, she is a member of the Chapter 7 Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees appointed by the Office of the United States Trustee in the Central District of California, and serves as a Chapter 11 trustee as well. Ms. Miller currently counsels a wide array of clients including public and private corporations, financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and small businesses, among others. At present, Ms. Miller is serving as the chapter 7 Trustee for the infamous Girardi Keese Law Firm.
For nearly 30 years, Mr. Ehrenberg has served as a Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustee. As a bankruptcy litigator, he has represented both debtors and creditors, creditor’s committees, landlords, and buyers looking to purchase assets from bankruptcy estates. Having held a certification in business bankruptcy law for more than twenty years, Mr. Ehrenberg has served as both a testifying and non-testifying expert witness in cases involving such issues as defenses to avoidable transfers and fraudulent conveyances, community property interests, and material misrepresentations. Additionally, Mr. Ehrenberg has been one of the most sought-after certified mediators in Los Angeles for cases including non-dischargeability actions, contract disputes, landlord tenant disputes, and legal malpractice actions over the last several years.
