Greenspoon Marder Partners Manuel Crespo and Myrna Maysonet Appointed to the Florida Bar’s Journal Committee, Pro Bono Committee

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – September 9, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder announces partners Manuel “Manny” L. Crespo and Myrna L. Maysonet have been appointed to serve on the Florida Bar Journal/News Editorial Board Committee. This committee works closely with journal and news staff to “develop articles of current interest and concerns to the profession” and select manuscripts for publication.

In addition, Mr. Crespo has been appointed to serve on the Pro Bono Legal Services Committee. In this committee, among other responsibilities, members help with identifying, supporting, and assisting on statewide and local pro bono projects and activities. Each year, the president-elect of The Florida Bar appoints interested Bar members to serve on standing committees, with Mr. Crespo and Ms. Maysonet both being appointed by the newest president of the Florida Bar, Roland Sanchez-Medina.

Mr. Crespo has concentrated his practice in real estate and commercial transactions, including title insurance, condominium development, and the conversion from existing rental unit buildings to condominium ownership. He has litigated real property disputes, contract and title disputes, construction, landlord-tenant, foreclosures, and other real estate matters. In addition to his practice, Mr. Crespo has served many leadership roles in his community. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association, Legal Services of Greater Miami, and as Chairman of the Grievance Committee of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for the Florida Bar. He was previously appointed by Florida Bar President, Ramon Abadín, to co-chair the Florida Bar Committee for Diversity and Inclusion.

Ms. Maysonet concentrates her practice in employment litigation, counseling and defending corporations in all areas of employment including but not limited to hiring, disciplining, discharging employees and post-discharge litigation. Ms. Maysonet’s litigation experience involves a large spectrum of employment-related issues, such as defense of discrimination complaints under Title VII and state counterparts, unpaid wages, minimum wage and overtime disputes under the FLSA and state counterparts, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, labor-management disputes under collective bargaining agreements and the NLRA, OSHA federal regulations and employment class-actions (Rule 23 and collective actions). Ms. Maysonet also serves as the firm’s Chief Impact Officer.
