Myrna L. Maysonet
Partner and Chief Impact Officer
Myrna L. Maysonet stands at the forefront of employment law innovation, combining over two decades of legal expertise with groundbreaking advocacy for workplace equity and inclusion. As a partner in Greenspoon Marder’s Labor and Employment and Class Action Defense practice groups and the firm’s Chief Impact Officer, she has redefined what it means to practice law with purpose.
Her litigation expertise spans the complete spectrum of employment law, from discrimination complaints under Title VII to complex wage and hour disputes under the FLSA, ADA accommodations, FMLA compliance, and multi-jurisdictional class actions. Ms. Maysonet routinely shields employers from regulatory challenges across federal agencies, including the EEOC, DOL, and NLRB, with successful practice experience spanning Florida, Nevada, Utah, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Recognized as a leading authority in the timeshare industry, Ms. Maysonet has drafted critical FHA and ADA compliance analyses for the American Resort and Development Association. Her bilingual capabilities and deep understanding of Hispanic markets position her as an invaluable strategic advisor for companies navigating diverse workforce challenges.
Ms. Maysonet’s dedication to justice extends well beyond the courtroom. She has earned widespread recognition for both her legal expertise in labor and employment law and her unwavering commitment to community advocacy. Her accolades include being named one of Florida Trend’s “Notable Employment Lawyers,” a National Law Journal “Employment Trailblazer,” and one of Latino Leaders Magazine’s “Top Latino Lawyers.” For her community impact, she has been honored as “Lawyer of the Year” and “LGBTQ+ Equality Lawyer of the Year” by the Chambers & Partners Diversity Awards, and recognized as a “DEI Champion” by Corporate Counsel’s Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards.
As a sought-after commentator, Ms. Maysonet regularly appears on Univision, Bloomberg Law, Law360, and SHRM, providing analysis on cutting-edge employment issues. Her thought leadership encompasses emerging areas like cannabis employment law, transgender workplace rights, and the intersection of reproductive rights and employment law.
As Chief Impact Officer, Ms. Maysonet leads the firm’s community engagement efforts, overseeing signature initiatives such as the successful Project New Leaf expungement and sealing program and the Future Lawyers Bridge Program, which fosters mentorship and access for aspiring legal professionals.
Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder LLP, Ms. Maysonet served as a Judge Advocate General in the United States Navy, where she represented service members in felony and misdemeanor cases. She also served as a Staff Judge Advocate and Counsel to the Captain of the Submarine Base at Kings Bay, Georgia. During that time, she was an advisor on issues relating to military discipline, labor relations, employment law for the civilian workforce and state and federal laws.
