Denver, CO – January 30, 2019 – Greenspoon Marder is proud to present the Denver Business Journal’s The Business of Cannabis: The State of the Industry on January 30 th in Denver. This is the first event involving the Denver Business Journal and the cannabis industry, further legitimizing the industry in Colorado, which exceeded $1 billion as of August last year and brought in over $200 million of tax revenue to the state.
The event will feature a keynote address and two panel discussions, delving into hot topics faced by cannabis owners/operators and business advisors. Greenspoon Marder Partner and Chair of the Cannabis Law Practice,
Rachel Gillette, will be the moderator for the panel discussion “Best Practices for Cannabis Industry Companies.” Additionally, Saphira Galoob, Principal and CEO of The Liaison Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Greenspoon Marder, will deliver the keynote address, providing an update from Capitol Hill and a forecast of the legislation and Members of Congress to watch during the 116 th Congress.
Ms. Gillette has helped marijuana/cannabis businesses with licensing and regulatory compliance, business law and transactions, contract drafting and review, tax litigation, corporate formation, and tax matters, including audit representation.
Ms. Galoob has first-hand experience and success with balancing the intersection between the passion and priorities of start-up enterprises with regulations and business realities. In the Cannabis space, she has expertise in designing and executing strategies to assist Cannabis businesses to effectively navigate, participate and communicate within the Congressional and Federal Agency landscape.
