GREENSPOON MARDER RECOGNIZED AS A TOP FUNDRAISER FOR
SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL FLORIDA
Orlando, FL – January 16, 2018 – Greenspoon Marder was recently recognized at the Team Captain Kick-Off meeting on January 11, 2018 for upcoming the Corporate Run. Touted as Orlando’s largest office party, the 2018 Insurance Office of America (IOA) Corporate 5k will take place on April 12, 2018 in downtown Orlando. The event is held exclusively for Florida’s corporate community and allows businesses and non-profit organizations to form teams and participate in the race for camaraderie, friendly competition and celebrating with co-workers. The participating population is made up of over 18,000 runners and walkers from over 700 companies and non-profit organizations.
Greenspoon Marder has sponsored the event since 2015. The firm recently received the inaugural Top Fundraiser award for providing the funds to enable Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida exceed their goal, providing 100,000 meals to those in need in the community. Maureen Mikel, Development Manager at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, presented the award and noted, “this award is like the Stanley Cup for fundraising. Greenspoon Marder helped us exceed our goal with their generous support.” The award will become an annual recognition for the company that raises the most money for the race. Greenspoon Marder is a proud annual sponsor of the IOA Corporate 5k and hosts the awards reception post-race each year.
In 2017, Michael E. Marder, Co-Managing Director of Greenspoon Marder, committed to making sure the food bank exceeded its goals. At the post-race award event, he presented Second Harvest with a check for $20,000. “We are part of this community and we support it through all of our endeavors. We are committed to working toward ending hunger for those among us who desperately need our help,” said Mr. Marder. “Knowing that one dollar will provide four meals, we worked to bring meals to as many people as possible,” he added.
