Fort Lauderdale, FL – December 17, 2019 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that Senior Counsel Elizabeth Somerstein Adler has been elected to serve as the Vice Chair of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Sustainability Advisory Board (SAB). Ms. Adler is currently serving on her fourth term on the SAB. As a board member, her responsibilities include advising the City Commission regarding climate change; environmental sustainability; identifying and recommending affordable strategies associated with conservation, renewable energy and energy efficiency; and researching environmentally sound practices that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save money, energy and resources. SAB has continued the work of its predecessor, the Citizens Sustainability “Green” Committee (CSGC), and continues to make recommendations which further establish the City of Fort Lauderdale as a leader in environmental sustainability.
Ms. Adler concentrates her practice on civil litigation, including, but not limited to, commercial, construction, zoning, environmental, and land use. Ms. Adler is credentialed by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED AP BD+C, which is an advanced professional credential obtained by only those professionals with significant expertise in the design and construction phases of green buildings, serving the commercial, residential, education and healthcare sectors.
