GREENSPOON MARDER SHAREHOLDER STEVE GELLER JOINS SPECIAL COMMITTEE SESSION PANEL AT THE NCLGS 2016 SUMMER MEETING
FORT LAUDERDALE – July 29, 2016 – Steve Geller, a shareholder at Greenspoon Marder, will be on the panel of the “Special Committee Session on Pari-Mutuels” at this year’s National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) Summer Meeting. The panel will discuss the state of the horse-racing and greyhound-racing industries, as well as legality and performance of historical-horse racing machines. Geller himself will address trends in racing and wagering.
The summer meeting will provide information on cutting edge gaming issues that legislators need to know. This year’s NCLGS programs include balanced panel presentations that offer opposing views. Geller will be one of the many prestigious panelists who have been selected to join the program, and get the opportunity to discuss the future of gaming. The NCLGS is the only organization of state lawmakers that meet on a regular basis to discuss issues in regards to gaming. Their primary concern is that the industry is properly regulated.
Geller concentrates his practice in the areas of land use & zoning, lobbying, and gaming, representing numerous local and national clients. He has been a frequent speaker across the country on both gambling and insurance issues, and has spoken frequently in Florida on local government and growth management issues. In addition to his busy practice, Mr. Geller served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1988 to 1998, and was a member of the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2008. He also served as the Senate Minority (Democratic) leader from 2006-2008.
