MEDICAL MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION SUMMIT 2017
Fort Lauderdale – January 24, 2017 – Greenspoon Marder is proud to support the Broward County Bar Association Medical Marijuana Legalization Summit 2017 on February 10th at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach. The summit will address the current legal atmosphere in Florida, the rules and regulations to setting up a marijuana related business or practice, its potential effect on cities and employers, and a variety of other topics related to the industry.
Greenspoon Marder attorneys Jodi Laurence, Adam Kemper and Alicia Lewis will be featured speakers at the BCBA Medical Marijuana Summit. Each attorney will be addressing the marijuana industry in relation to their respective practices.
Ms. Laurence is a Board Certified Health Law attorney. She has significant experience in all aspects of health law, including the formation and structuring of health care companies and multi-specialty group practices, mergers and acquisitions, contracting, corporate compliance and fraud and abuse issues. Ms. Laurence will discuss healthcare issues in the cannabis industry.
Mr. Kemper’s focuses his practice in the area of labor and employment law. He has recently begun working with Cannabis businesses on their various workplace needs, and will join the “Medical Marijuana Effects on Employers” panel discussion at the summit.
Ms. Lewis focuses her practice on land use, zoning, environmental and governmental law. She successfully represents the most prominent real estate developers in the country before federal, state, regional, and local government agencies. Ms. Lewis will discuss ethical considerations in the medical marijuana industry.
