Fort Lauderdale, Florida – April 15, 2014 – John Pelzer, a Shareholder in the Litigation department at Greenspoon Marder’s Cypress Creek office, has been reappointed for another one year term as Chair of the Board of Legal Specialization and Education of The Florida Bar.
The Board seeks to enhance the legal services provided to the community by ensuring that members of The Florida Bar exhibit the highest level of technical skill, competency and professionalism. To that end, the Board oversees the award of Board Certification to Florida attorneys, approves continuing legal education courses and monitors attorney compliance.
Pelzer is Board Certified in Appellate Practice and handles appeals from a wide array of practice areas including Administrative Law, Bankruptcy, Class Actions, Constitutional Law, Contracts, Probate, Personal Injury and Real Estate. He also counsels and represents clients at all stages of ad valorem property tax challenges.
Admitted to The Florida Bar, Pelzer holds court admissions for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Federal, First, Second, Third, Seventh, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a past member of the Appellate Court Rules Committee of The Florida Bar, and a past Chairman and member of the Appellate Practice Certification Committee. Pelzer earned his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts from Stetson University.
