KIDS CAN ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY CHILDREN OF GREENSPOON MARDER ATTORNEYS HONORED FOR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS
FT. LAUDERDALE – June 14, 2016 – Kids Can, founded by the children of Greenspoon Marder shareholders Rebecca Faith Bratter and Jeffrey A. Backman, empowers children with the opportunity to give back to the community. The foundation raised close to $17,000 in the span of 10 weeks to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Kids Can, represented by Bratter’s two sons, Backman’s two daughters, and other children that are members of the board, presented the organization with a check for $16,814.88 at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man/Woman of the Year Gala on Saturday, June 4, where they in turn were recognized as honorary candidates for their efforts.
Managing partner of Greenspoon Marder’s Ft. Lauderdale office, Bratter also serves as chair of the firm’s banking and finance litigation practice group, litigation manager, and a member of the firm’s executive litigation committee. She is also a member of the firm’s management committee. Her practice focuses on the defense of class actions involving non-profit debt management, for profit debt-settlement, and consumer trade practices.
Backman is co-chair of the firm’s complex business litigation group in Ft. Lauderdale. He focuses his practice on complex class action defense and general commercial litigation. He also advises clients on legal compliance matters and is at the forefront of the legal landscape involving the telemarketing industry.
